>6th - 15th September: American Film Festival, Deauville, Calvados

One of the country’s most famous film festivals, with premiere screenings of the latest US film releases and big stars on the red carpet.

>6th - 8th September: 'Foire Millénaire de la Sainte-Croix', Lessay, Manche

An impressive horse and cattle fair which attracts over 400,000 visitors every year.

>13th September: The Game of Thrones Tapestry comes to Bayeux, Calvados

The Game of Thrones Tapestry is one of the most ambitious and beautiful piece of Game of Thrones artwork in existence. Visitors can discover it for free at the Hôtel du Doyen, right opposite the Cathedral.

>21st - 22nd September: Festival 'Cidre et Dragon', Merville-Franceville-Plage, Calvados

Expect both dargons and Cider at this steampunk and wizardry by the seaside.

>21st – 22nd September: European Heritage Days, all over Normandy

As every year, the public will have opportunities to visit buildings, monuments and sites, many of which are not normally accessible.

>September: Fête du Fromage, Neufchâtel, Seine-Maritime

Neufchatel Cheese festival with tastings, food markets, street parades and competitions.

>September: Ouest Park Festival, Le Havre, Seine-Maritime

Music festival held in the Tourneville Fort. Headliners include Jane Birkin, The Go! Team and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

>28th - 29th September'Toute la Mer sur un Plateau', Granville, Manche

Huge seafood festival around the port.

>September: Rock in the Barn Festival, Vexin-Sur-Epte, Eure

Trendy indie music festival which takes place in a farm.
