In summer, we love to stay out late! The markets we’ve chosen all have that holiday flavour in common. They all showcase local crafts and produce. Located by the sea or in coastal towns, these night markets often feature concerts and entertainment.

Summer Evening Markets in La Manche

A few kilometers from Coutances and its cathedral, come and stroll with family, friends, solo or as a couple at this summer evening market. The setting is lovely, as it takes place in the courtyard of a medieval castle. Enjoy local specialties, often organic, while taking in a concert or live performance. Nature also puts on a beautiful show here, in the heart of Regnéville harbor.

The small fishing port of Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue hosts a charming evening craft market, followed by a concert.
Saint-Vaast (pronounced “Vah”) was voted “France’s Favorite Village” in 2019. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site (with Tatihou) for its Vauban towers.

More than 50 vendors offering artisanal and food products usually take part in this evening market in Dieppe. In 2020, Dieppe’s weekly market was voted “Most Beautiful Market in France.”

Summer Evening Markets in Calvados

During the summer season, this Norman local produce and craft evening market brings the streets of this charming medieval town to life. It is held around the Tree of Liberty, where you’ll find artisan makers and local producers. Around fifty stalls await you.

Make the most of your visit by attending the free show “Rendez-vous à la cathédrale” as well as a concert.

Not far from Bayeux, head to the small port of Grandcamp to enjoy the fresh sea air. Its long sandy beach is an open invitation to relax. As evening falls, every Sunday in summer, Quai Crampon, also known as Le Perré, comes alive. Stalls selling local produce are set up facing the sea.

If you’re on holiday along the coast or in Caen, make a stop in this lively city. Around fifty local artisans and producers take part in this evening market. You’ll find ceramics, jewellery, leather goods, embroidery, as well as Norman aperitif specialties and more. The focus is on handmade creations, craftsmanship, and upcycling (reusing and transforming materials).
As for entertainment, you can also enjoy dance workshops and live cover concerts featuring pop, rock, rap, and variety music (on July 10 and August 14).

Mortagne-au-Perche is known for its relaxed way of life. A strong appreciation for quality and craftsmanship is part of its charm, making this small town highly sought-after. What better way to soak up this atmosphere than at an evening market, where you can meet its friendly locals?
