This impressive shipping container art installation by Vincent Ganivet has become one of Le Havre’s newest and best-loved landmarks.
the wow factor
Inaugurated in 2017 for Le Havre’s 500th anniversary celebrations, Vincent Ganivet’s Catène de Containers has rapidly become one of the city’s most iconic sites, and has even been dubbed ‘Le Havre’s Eiffel Tower’. Like a giant set of building blocks, the artist has assembled a string of multicolored shipping containers making up two monumental arches that sit between the city and the sea. Look out for it when you dock in Le Havre!
