Located in the heart of the historic neighbourhood between the Cathedral and Saint Marc Square, in a pedestrian street opposite Saint Maclou Church, the Walsheim replaced a former cabaret called "la Pipe" in 1974 where numerous artists from the 1940s and 1950s came to perform. As soon as it opened, it became a Bavarian tavern offering various dishes typical of this region.
