More exhilarating than surfing, wave skiing originated in the southern hemisphere in the late 1970s, when it was used by rescue workers on Australian beaches to pick up swimmers in trouble. Today, this sport has become a full-fledged board sport. This variant of surfing has an advantage which is the mobility on the spot. Indeed, the classic surfers are less fast in paddling, while with the paddle one reaches more quickly the take-off zone (zone of catch of wave).
