A highlight of the sailing season, the Calvados Cup is dedicated to the mini 6.50s, boats that are small in size (6.5 metres) but big on pure performance, designed to cope with the toughest conditions and built to cross the Atlantic in complete safety.
Gabart, Cammas and Caudrelier, the great sailors who sail around the world, all started out in Mini 6.50s.
Race 1 (June 25 > 28) will start in Douarnenez and finish in Deauville.
Race 2 (June 29 > July 2) will be a double crossing of the English Channel in the middle of the world's busiest shipping lane.
Race 3 (July 3 > 6) will offer skippers 500 nautical miles of solo sailing.
In less than 5 years, this race devised by the Deauville Yacht Club has evolved over the years to meet the needs and desires of racers as closely as possible. With its technical course strewn with pitfalls, it has established itself as a great classic.
