Our story begins over 1,000 years ago. Dieppe did not yet exist. Neither its town nor its port. Their origins? You'll find them a few kilometers south, at Martin-Église.
You have to walk there to understand. Cross its bridges, stop and contemplate the landscape and the river Eaulne beneath your feet. Picturesque, bucolic and mysterious, this is how the chroniclers of yesteryear described Martini-Ecclesia.
Brick, stone, thatch, water and green, you'd think we were living in a postcard. But make no mistake! Because before the boat rides, the Grand Prix races and the famous Clos Normand meetings, history had its share of upheavals: looting, quarrels, incidents and ambushes.
