Local councillor Myriam Moulin, a specialist in the town?s history, will be offering guided tours of the "Marcel Ouimet" trail, with 14 panels featuring the correspondence of this Radio Canada war reporter, private correspondence with his wife, and an uncensored account of the D-Day landings.
The tour starts at the Maison des Canadiens, the 1st house in France to be liberated by sea, and moves on to the Maison des Reporters de Guerre (where the war staff set up to communicate radio and TV reports), passing through the Parc Georges Regnauld (witness to the landings), the Isle des Français, and ending at Place Marcel Ouimet.
