Lopakhine danse à Vire is a solo created and directed by Liza Machover for actor-dancer Julien Moreau. The story is interspersed with filmed sequences in which young and not-so-young inhabitants of the Vire area recount their journeys and aesthetic shocks, around the theme of emancipation. The kind of emancipation we aspire to when we leave our home environment and come into contact with art.
Liza Machover continues the project she began with l'île aux pères, a combination of collecting experiences and working on stage.
In this show, which constantly moves between theater, dance and documentary, it is the trace of art that is questioned. A trace that marks bodies. A trace that transforms us and leaves its mark on our lives. A trace, finally, more subterranean, that sometimes lives within us without our being aware of it.
