Bring clothes adapted to outdoor work, boots or high shoes (safety shoes if possible), protective gloves, pruning shears, branch cutter, pruning hook.
Before the use of barbed wire or electric fences, farmers used to weave the hedges on their farms. They interlaced the branches of the trees and shrubs of the hedge to give more solidity to the whole and to form an almost impassable fence.
The hedges thus formed made it possible to contain the cattle in the plots which were reserved for them and prevented them from wandering. The wood of the hedges also had many uses: firewood, making tools and utensils, aromatic herbs. Creepers, such as clematis or brambles, were used to make baskets of all kinds.
