As part of the 80th anniversary commemorations, the "Mad King" company from Manche is offering a musical reading in two voices entitled "A contre courant(s)", based on the life of Alfred NAKACHE (1915-1983), a sportsman of Jewish origin and French swimming champion. He outshone German athletes at the 1936 Berlin Olympics and was deported to the Auschwitz camp in 1943. On his return, he took part in the London Olympics. His life is an example of courage in the face of barbarity, and a symbol of resilience. The show will take place in the Laulne church, rebuilt in 1956. In 2002, the building was awarded the "patrimoine du XXe siècle" label. Recommended for ages 12 and up. Reservations required.
