For several years now, the Park has been working hard on forest management and the timber industry. To achieve this, it works in close collaboration with all the players in the sector, including the National Forestry Office.

Florence Allaer and Julien Chesnel, who are both in charge of forestry and wood-based industries at the Park, offer you an insight into all the elements that a forest manager needs to keep in mind in order to maintain healthy forests, capable of fulfilling all their functions: environmental, social and economic, in a context of ever-increasing climate change. An agent from the Office National des Forêts will share his experience of the Brotonne forest and help you sharpen your gaze. It's essential when you're hammering! Working in teams, you will be asked to take a close look at each tree, to assess its role in the stand and whether it should be retained or cut. Your choices will be analyzed by a digital application to understand how the cut trees will be transformed by the timber industry, and to ensure that you have properly conserved the habitat trees. The questions that emerge from this practical experience will provide a rich source of exchange with the agents who work in the Park?s forests.

This Rendez-vous du Parc is open to anyone interested in forest management and climate change. Registration required.
