Manche-based painter Jean-Philippe Burnel revisits the rich bestiary of medieval illumination with his energetic, enthusiastic style.

For this exhibition project, entirely imagined for the abbey, he invited sculptor Marc Taupin Lien externe, whose animal ceramics interact with his paintings.

Along the walls of the exhibition room and in the chapels of the abbey church, visitors will discover an immense menagerie of familiar animals, as well as griffins, basilisks and unicorns.
