The mission of the Société des Marins is to organize and perpetuate, since 1861, the "Pilgrimage of Seafarers". During two days, at Pentecost, a vibrant tribute is paid to "people of the sea". This maritime pilgrimage remains, at present, one of the most important in France. Each year, about one hundred models parade through the streets of our city. Mass for the sailors in the church of Sainte-Catherine, meditation at the stele of those lost at sea and the blessing of the sea punctuate the day on Sunday
SUNDAY, JUNE 5
09:30: ceremony at the stele of those lost at sea, on the pier,
10:30 am: solemn mass with music in the Sainte-Catherine church,
From 1:30 p.m.: embarkation of officials for the blessing of the sea (only a few officials and the families of sailors will be able to embark) Around 4:00 p.m.: concert by the "Libenter" choir on the Hôtel-de-Ville square
9:00 pm: concert by the "SCAMELVILLA" choir in the Saint-Léonard church in Honfleur
MONDAY JUNE 6: PILGRIMAGE TO NOTRE-DAME-DE-GRACE
09h00 : gathering in front of the Town Hall
09:15 : departure of the parade in the streets of the city, with the musicians of the bands of Angerville-la-Martel and Saint-Pierre-en-Auge, the models, the officials, the representatives of the City of Honfleur and the communes of the canton as well as the clergy accompanied by the charitons
Around 10:00 a.m. - in front of the chapel: signing of the guestbook
Around 10:30 a.m. - on the Plateau de Grâce: open-air mass with music, celebrated by Father Pascal Marie, parish priest of Notre-Dame-de-l'Estuaire (homily given by Father Lionel Poulain, parish priest of Notre-Dame du Bessin and archpriest of Bayeux Cathedral). 12:30 pm: return to the Hôtel-de-Ville (thanks - national anthem - performance of the bands)
Around 1:00 pm: reception in the "Grand Grenier à Sel
