This atypical trio resonates with the singular and moving work of Oakland-born writer, socialist activist, photographer and reporter Jack London.
Vincent Courtois draws his inspiration from the history and life of the American novelist and short-story writer, drawing on the tales of the poet of the great outdoors, who confronts man with his extreme condition.
The woodiness of the cello, the breath of the clarinet and tenors, the breaths, grain and rub of the bow, everything in the colors and essences of the instruments evokes organological chimeras. Listen and you'll hear hurdy-gurdies, organ, electric guitar and bagpipes. The evocative power of this trio takes the listener on adventures, sometimes icy and snowy, sometimes wet and island-like.
