From June 1, La Cité de la Mer will be offering the general public a free temporary exhibition entitled "Regard sur Cherbourg, port de la liberté? In Jean's eyes".
Based on the real-life testimony of Jean PIVAIN, it will offer a look at the Gare Maritime Transatlantique, the Occupation and the Liberation through the eyes of Jean, a 9-year-old child in 1933 who grew up in Cherbourg.
The exhibition will feature historical prints and never-before-seen illustrations by Jean BRISSET, a specialist in children?s illustration. The exhibition will run at La Cité throughout the summer. From September onwards, the exhibition will be available free of charge in schools.
