Augustin de Canchy, author of the book "Creully, juin 44, un secret si bien gardé" published by Orep in 2019, offers a lecture on the Liberation of Creully and the village's unique place in the Battle of Normandy.
It was in fact in Creully, and more precisely at the Château de Creullet, that Field Marshal Montgomery set up his headquarters after D-Day. It was also in the Tour Carrée of the Château de Creully, on June 7, 1944, that an English BBC radio transmitter was installed. Messages were recorded and broadcast until July 21, 1944.
