Attracted by English-speaking artists, Solann puts Hozier and Sufjan Stevens on a pedestal, praises the whimsical freedom of Bjork, and we can also imagine that she would have things to say to Tamino or Phoebe Bridgers in front of a fire kindled by the enchanting Patrick Watson (the latter recently contacted her on Instagram and, in addition to the privilege of opening for him during his series of concerts at the Café de la danse, a collaboration is taking shape between the Montrealer and her). Starting with her ukulele, Solann works in her own corner, accompanied by producer Marso in the studio. She relies solely on her instincts, and two years ago decided to switch to the French language in order to more accurately convey her torments and her head-on confrontations. The first person singular asserts itself in the midst of cathartic, literary, theatrical and mythological writing.
