US military and civilian re-enactment camp held at the Maison de la Libération June 6, 1944.
La Maison de la Libération 6 juin 1944 is "the first civilian house liberated by the Americans on the morning of June 6, 1944" in SAINT LAURENT SUR MER - OMAHA BEACH
(Based on eyewitness accounts and a book written in collaboration with the village council and its residents. )
The Maison de la Libération (Liberation House) welcomes you to a place that has remained just as it was on D-Day.
"Members of the association "les fleurs de la résistance" (flowers of the resistance) will accompany you in this discovery, which will also enable them to talk to you about the local and Normandy resistance, so that you don't forget the intelligence work done by the resistance fighters and the 87 people shot in CAEN prison on the morning of June 6, 44 (screenings and testimonials on site)
In the field at the rear of the property, you can also discover a re-enactment camp set up by collectors with a passion for the June 6 period: the "D' DAY MEMORIES CAMP".
They'll show you their equipment and vehicles, and share their passion with all generations!
