80e anniversaire du Débarquement : lecture théâtralisée “Juillet 1944 Blainville-sur-Mer”

BLAINVILLE-SUR-MER

20/07/2024

As part of the commemoration of the D-Day landings, we are proposing an intervention close to the population. In partnership with the owners of the Gonneville manor house, who are the descendants of Mademoiselle de Saint-Pern, a nurse and 1944 Resistance fighter who married an American lieutenant, Mr. Hermann Menke.

On July 20 and 21, we will be presenting a staged reading in a fifty-square room in the manor courtyard.
10 actors, men and women from the "Théâtre aux champs" troupe, will bring to life the days of July just before the arrival of the liberation troops. There will be several sessions, each lasting 45 minutes.
We have chosen to use a small gauge to bring the show closer to the audience, so that they can really feel what the people of Blainville and the surrounding villages experienced and felt.
This show is a semi-fictional account, based on facts and people who existed and who were recounted in several documents, some of which are no longer available.

Richard Vitte, project manager for théâtre aux champs . Actor, author and director.
