A masterpiece of Romanesque art, the Bayeux Tapestry is inscribed on UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register. Embroidered in the 11th century, it unfolds as a single piece measuring 70 metres long and 50 centimetres high.
An illustrated account of the conquest of England in 1066 by the Duke of Normandy, William the Conqueror, it is a unique record of life in medieval Europe.
