The gîte de la SEYERE is an ideal place for a quiet holiday in Normandy to discover the southwest tip of Normandy and eastern Brittany.(48°33' 15'' NORTH 1°9' 44'' WEST)
The accommodation is an old restored farmhouse, adjoining the owner’s house but with independent access. The façade as well as the interior with exposed beams and stone walls testify to the local architecture. On the ground floor, the kitchen open to the living room is equipped with a refrigerator, a microwave, a stove, etc.. but also a dishwasher.
The living room, arranged around a fireplace, extends the dining room with a capacity of 14 guests. In this friendly space, you can read, listen to music or watch television comfortably installed in the armchairs or sofa. On the same level there are separate toilets and a bathroom with shower and washbasin with washing machine. Upstairs, the cottage has three bedrooms, a bathroom and separate toilet. The first bedroom and the second bedroom are equipped with a double bed (with the possibility of a child bed), the third with a double bed and two bunk beds. The large bathroom includes two sinks, a bathtub and a shower.
Outside, the courtyard closed by a gate allows to park and enjoy the garden furniture.
The house is equipped with central heating which is included in the price of the stay as well as water, gas and electricity. The wood for the fireplace is however extra as well as the supply of sheets and towels (9 € per single or double bed).
Holidaymakers can also enjoy the quiet of the cottage with books and board games available, some bicycles can also be provided.
Pets are accepted on the ground floor.
Although Mont Saint-Michel is the main attraction of the South Channel (do not miss the crossing of the bay on foot from Genêts to Mont), you can discover the Manche and the Norman heritage around Saint Martin de Landelles, notably with the copper workshop and the Foundry de Bells of Villedieu-les-Poêles.
The seaside with the beaches is quite close to Carolles and Granville and allows both swimming and fishing on foot (mussels, cockles, crabs).
The bay known for its tidal amplitudes allows us to observe a large mascaret at a certain time of the year. The D-Day beaches and sites are just over an hour’s drive away from Caen, where you can visit the Memorial Museum, which traces the history of the Second World War. Military cemeteries (American cemetery of Saint-James at 10km, German cemetery of Huisnes-sur-Mer at 27km) testify to this important past.
