Built around 1565 at the end of the Wars of Religion by Jean René de la Bretonnière, the manor house of Lormarin offers visitors a remarkable architecture. Located halfway down a valley, it is surrounded by beautiful outbuildings: stables, bakery, courtyard and barns...
We acquired it in 1998 and have been working on it in the respect of the traditions.
We have organized the outbuildings to establish our professional activities: "L'atelier d'Alban" antique store has taken place in an old stable and Laurence has installed her lacquer and ceramics workshop in a stable (see http://laurence-klein-laque.fr)
In 1998 the building housing the bread oven was in ruins, after three years of work we transformed it into a guest room.
Since 2013, the former charetterie has been rehabilitated into an exhibition gallery and conference room
The exterior of the manor is open to visitors during the opening hours of the antique store: Thursday to Sunday inclusive from 2 to 7 pm and on public holidays.
The 17th century bakery was in ruins. We undertook to restore it with old materials, from 2000 to 2003. The framework and the roofing are the work of companions.
It has become a comfortable house of 70 m2 which is entirely at the disposal of the travelers; they will find a single room for their greater tranquility. It is furnished and decorated with antique objects, collected by Alban.
The breakfast, composed of pastries from the village bakery and homemade jams, is served in the room that houses the bread oven.
Wearing a mask is compulsory, 4 people maximum in the antique store disinfection of the guest room.
