Villers-sur-Mer beach is at the center of the world? It was the first French town to be crossed by the Greenwich Meridian! The seaside resort also bears witness to the Belle Epoque, with picturesque villas lining the beach. Its special feature: the Falaises des Vaches Noires, a geological curiosity dating from the Jurassic period, 4.5 km long and 100 m high.
For those less keen on history, the beach is the venue for numerous summer events, including the famous Sable Show festival and summer-long sports tournaments.

ACCESS
Access to the beach is via Avenue de la République, which runs alongside the seawall, as well as Rue Michel d?Ornano and Rue du Général Leclerc. As the latter two are narrow, it is advisable to access them via Avenue de la République.
Parking spaces are available on Avenue de la République and in the perpendicular streets, as well as behind the Casino Tranchant, Place du Lieutenant Fernand Fanneau. Pay parking is also available on Place Jean Mermoz, opposite the Tourist Office. Other free parking spaces are available in residential areas just a few blocks from the sea.
From June 15 to September 15, dogs are allowed on the beach before 10 a.m. and after 7 p.m., provided they are kept on a leash. Outside this period, dogs are allowed on the entire beach without restriction as to time or place.
From May 1 to September 15, horses are allowed on the beach at low tide, on the foreshore, before 10am and after 7pm. Outside this period, they are allowed at any time.

SURVEILLANCE
Villers-sur-Mer beaches are supervised on weekends and public holidays from May 1 to July 1, and every day from July 1 to September 1, from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm.
