Join us on November 8 at 8:30 pm at the Saint-Lô theater for a concert by Emilie Simon.

From her first album (Graines d?étoiles) to her most recent, Mue (Les étoiles de Paris), the star is Emilie?s supreme guide, the inaccessible muse who compels us to look ever higher and aim ever higher. Polaris is thus the object of a new expedition into fantasized territories, on the back of a winged tiger with emerald eyes, but, as we'll see as we decipher the story, the dreamed-of things never turn out as planned. Whether a heartbreaking astral tragedy or a fantasy-style voyage of initiation, Polaris is a breathtaking attention-getter, and provides Emilie Simon with a new setting in which to shine musically.

As usual, she has mastered the entire production spectrum, seconded only by Californian sound engineer and mixer Manny Marroquin (Rihanna, The Weeknd, Lana Del Rey), and provides the essential vintage-futuristic sound architecture of the finest brilliance, matched by cinegenic strings. With its gleaming Fairlight and Korg M1 synths, it evokes the golden age of the '80s home studio with its innate sense of the collusion of eras and styles that has always been its driving force. Inspired just as much by contemporary hip-hop, she has chosen to lighten up on the masses of sound she used to manipulate, tending towards a kind of minimalism that suits the new clarity of her writing perfectly.
