L'association des Amis de la cathédrale de Bayeux offers a guided tour of the cathedral choir. Completely rebuilt between 1220 and 1240, the cathedral choir is a fine example of Norman Gothic architecture. Admire 13th-century paintings, historiated medallions, fifty 16th-century stalls, railings from 1681 and 1772, the cathedra of Mgr de Rochechouart, and the magnificent neo-classical high altar from 1771 with its rich gilded bronze trim.
