Exceptionally for the European Heritage Days, a two-part visit is proposed.
First, the outside, with the illuminated facade, allowing you to scrutinize every detail of this richly ornate architectural elevation.
Then the interior, including the auditorium with its sumptuous decor in the red and gold tones of the period. An imposing crystal chandelier illuminates the dome, decorated with paintings by Georges Clairin, one of the decorators of the Opéra Garnier.
Discover this emblematic Cherbourg landmark, whose architect, Charles de Lalande, had previously designed the Théâtre de la Renaissance in Paris.
Duration: 1h30 - recommended for ages 8 and up.
Reservations required at the Cotentin Tourist Office --> Open from September 9.
