1 - An exhibition
A project to collect and disseminate personal accounts of the Liberation, making reliable historical and memorial data available to the widest possible audience. The aim of this project is to promote an intergenerational approach to remembrance of the Second World War. With one of the world?s oldest museums dedicated to the Liberation, the Museum and Heritage Department wishes to collect the memory of this historic moment from residents of EHPAD and independent living residences. This collection will be carried out by young people accompanied by dedicated structures outside school hours. To carry out this collection, the teenagers will be trained in two 2-hour workshops by Pauline Clermidy, trainer at the Cours Florent, to prepare them to speak and ask questions to the elderly residents of EHPAD or independent living facilities.
This work will be highlighted by an exhibition at the Musée de la Libération of these exchanges and the objects and documents that the participants have agreed to lend to illustrate their remarks.
The aim of this cross-disciplinary collaboration between culture, the CCAS and social centers is to break down the barriers between projects, while at the same time enabling disadvantaged members of the public to meet each other.
The emphasis is on sharing, collaboration, inclusion and access to culture for all

2 - Living books
Cherbourg-en-Cotentin is home to many refugees from contemporary conflicts. So, as part of our work on memory and the notions of resistance, freedom and peace, it seems essential to compare the exhibition with the experiences of people whose lives have been disrupted by war.

So 6 living books? 6 refugees, trained by Pauline Clermidy and accompanied by the organizations that support them on a daily basis (associations, FJT/OFAJ), will tell their stories at the Musée de la Libération throughout the day of September 11.
