This lecture will provide an overview of painted decorations in and around Honfleur, from medieval times to the present day. Frescoes, murals and funerary liters will be defined in order to better understand the subtleties of these different decorations and to better grasp their spatiality in ecclesiastical space.
Particular attention will be paid to Le dict des trois vifs et trois morts from Gonneville-sur-Honfleur, the faux-appareil from Saint-Pierre-du-Val and the painted ensemble in Honfleur?s Saint-Léonard church.
