DEAUVILLE

A native of western France, Hoyeau has been immersed in the spellbinding atmosphere of regional racing since his early teens. His passion for racing led him to take part in almost 200 races as an amateur.

After a brief spell in industry, Éric Hoyeau joined the French subsidiary of the Irish auction house Goffs in 1986. In 1988, he took over its management and actively contributed to its development until 2006. It was then that the merger between Goffs France and Les Ventes de Deauville gave birth to Arqana, under the impetus of SA le Prince Aga Khan, a group of breeders and Artcurial.

Under the enlightened leadership of Éric Hoyeau, Arqana quickly became Europe's second-largest auctioneer of racehorses. In 2023, over 4,000 horses were sold for a total of 230 million euros, testifying to the expertise and know-how of this exceptional man.

At this meeting, Éric Hoyeau will passionately share the fascinating history of horse auctions, as well as his personal experience at the heart of this singular world. A unique opportunity to learn more about a little-known but fascinating world.

Hosted by Fanny Hubart-Salmon, in partnership with the Pôle international du Cheval Longines-Deauville.
