Novelist Marie Nimier collected the confidences of men and women in Tunisia. The result is a funny, melancholy literary object. Alongside her, Naidra Ayadi, an actress who made her name in Maïwenn?s "Polisse", reads a few extracts.
Inspired by the ritual of confession, Marie Nimier listens, then makes her own the stories that anonymous people are willing to confide in her. Small and big secrets, family joys and tragedies, sexuality, daily life, the country?s evolution? are at the heart of the "Confidences tunisiennes" that Marie Nimier collects, blindfolded, and which paint a nuanced portrait of today?s Tunisia. Following on from "Le Marathon des mots" in Toulouse, this reading at Les Franciscaines by Naidra Ayadi, winner of the 2012 César for Best Newcomer, is followed by a conversation with Marie Nimier? which should be conducive to some wonderful confidences.
