La Fête des Plantes au Château la Chenevière

Major events,

COMMES

From 07/09/2024

Renowned, certified nurserymen and craftsmen unique in their fields invite you to discover their various specialties, such as old roses, their collection of sage, protected hydrangeas, Japanese maples, rare, aromatic or aquatic plants.

These enthusiasts will be sharing their ideas and tricks of the trade, both in simple discussions and in small workshops. Free lectures on gardening, permaculture, beekeeping and composting will also be held in the seminar room or in the kitchen garden (program below and updated on the website).

New features for this 10th edition include a flower arrangement workshop using the château's flowers (by reservation only, 10/person), harp therapy in the garden and climbing in the hundred-year-old trees of La Chenevière with La tribu des Cîmes, a company specializing in safe tree climbing.

Every year, with our partner Inner Wheel Bayeux, we aim to help local children with severe disabilities. This year, all profits will be donated to the association Syndrome de Williams et Beuren - Fédération Williams France région Bretagne Grand Ouest, to support Juliette (10) from Bayeux and the other children in the association.

Juliette suffers from this syndrome, a rare genetic disorder characterized by stunted growth, intellectual deficit, cardiac pathologies, anxiety, sleep, eating and concentration disorders. In France, the incidence is around 1/10,000 cases.

The money received will be used to finance the adapted camp. Juliette and her friends go away every year during the Pont de l'Ascension. This year, they are planning a singing and seaside holiday near Piriac sur Mer, with a budget of around 10,000 euros.
