A Tiroirs Ouverts
Compagnie Majordome (2017)
Looking borrowed, a little awkward, always seeming to want to apologize, the man settles down at his table of drawers. Methodically, he tries to reconstitute a clarinet which, unfortunately for him, has fallen on the floor. Here we are in the world of Quentin Brevet, bordering on that of Pierre Richard, but here, no tall blond man, but a dark-haired man juggling balls and sounds, where everything he misses is no accident. It's one of the artist's great strengths to make the audience lose all sense of reality.
In fact, deliberate mistakes reveal the clown?s talent - because he is one too! He makes one mistake after another, falls, bounces and interacts with the audience.
A clown and a juggler, HE is nonetheless a brilliant composer in spite of himself.
Everything he touches resonates. His clumsiness becomes a random rhythm, his juggling movements a melody. The balls hit and bang. This is augmented juggling: we hear what is usually only seen. Objects, balls and the set itself are organized in a symphony of bric-a-brac: the show is total.
