Journées du Patrimoine : Visite historique des Franciscaines

To discover Les Franciscaines, its past and its collections, is to discover a part of Deauville?s history. A leap back 150 years will plunge you into the construction site of what was then an orphanage. If you listen carefully, and with a little imagination, you can almost hear the chatter of the nuns in the cloister garden, the melody of the psalms in the chapel and the clinking of spoons in what was already a refectory.
Then we return to the present to explore Alain Moatti?s new architectural project and understand the workings of an atypical cultural center during a walk punctuated by books and works of art.
