As part of the European Heritage Days, join us on September 21 for a guided tour of "Le Normandy".

Come and discover or rediscover a key part of St-Lawrence's heritage, enabling us to retrace two centuries of our history, and why not talk together about the future of this exceptional site.

The building was built in the 19th century, on the orders of Napoleon I. Initially a riding school belonging to the Haras de Saint-Lô, it was one of the few buildings to escape the bombardments of 1944. Prison, multi-purpose hall and cinema, it was finally dedicated to contemporary music in 1990.

Elements of the 19th century can still be seen at Normandy. Today, you can still see the cornices and buttresses on the outside, as well as the painted silhouette of the old windows. Inside, you can see the entire historic wooden framework, with its exposed cartwheels and moldings... All that remains of the cinema is the projection window, which can now be viewed from the offices. In 1999, the Normandy was refurbished to create a building with a 900-seat auditorium, three dressing rooms, a rehearsal space, offices, a catering area and storage facilities.
