Exposition : “Mondes flottants, du japonisme à l’art contemporain”

Major events,

DEAUVILLE

To 22/09/2024

The "Mondes flottants" exhibition at Les Franciscaines explores the reciprocal influence of Japonism on Impressionist and contemporary artists. In collaboration with Tokyo?s Mori Art Museum, classical and modern works come face to face, creating an aesthetic dialogue between two eras and two cultures, enriched by pieces by Degas, Renoir, Lee Ufan and Yayoi Kusama.

The exhibition brings together major Impressionist works from the collections of the Musée d?Orsay, the BnF and the Musée Rodin, influenced by Japonism, with contemporary works from the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo. An aesthetic shock comparable to that experienced by the Impressionist masters.

An exhibition sponsored by the Normandie Impressioniste festival.
