Entre Écosse et Camargue, pâturage en vallée de Seine

Major events,

HEURTEAUVILLE

14/09/2024

On its territory, the Park manages a herd of around 105 head of cattle, mostly Camargue horses and Highland cows, grazing several hundred hectares of wetlands. This is also the case on the Heurteauville grounds. These animals are an integral part of the functioning of the marshland ecosystem here, contributing to the balance of the different environments and species present. These hardy breeds are particularly well adapted to the specific conditions of wetlands. Nevertheless, the animals are closely supervised by a team of 3 Park staff who maintain the grounds.

François Simont will take you up close to the herd, to discover the specific features of these breeds and the details of the Park?s livestock management.

This Rendez-vous du Parc is open to the residents of Heurteauville and all those who wish to get involved in the preservation of our flora and fauna.

Organizers: Parc naturel régional des Boucles de la Seine Normande.
Leader: François Simont, technical manager of the Park?s site management unit.
Registration required on the Park's website. Places are limited. Please bring
waterproof boots or shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
