Experience a timeless weekend and relive the liberation of Gavray-sur-Sienne in July 1944. A re-enactment never before seen in Normandy, the construction of a strategic element - the Bailley Bridge - a technological feat of the time, which contributed to the success of Operation Cobra.

Wednesday, July 24 :
? early evening: arrival of the 300th Engineer Combat Battalion Reconstitution convoy in period military vehicles.

Thursday, July 25 :
? all day: preparation of the Bailey Bridge structure by the 300th Engineer Combat Battalion Reconstitution.
? 8 p.m.: conference-ride on the theme of civilians and refugees with Mr. BISSON in Gavray-sur-Sienne, followed by a friendly drink.

Friday July 26th :
? 6pm: unveiling of 2 commemorative plaques in honor of the last surviving veteran of the liberation of Gavray, Private Weldon Mc Clane, and in memory of Private Miller and Colonel Leander L. Doan of the 32nd Armored Regiment, in the presence of their families.
? 8pm: Peace Meal (on sale in Gavray-sur-Sienne: Mairie, Axa Assurance, Blue Indigo, tabac Le Family, Maison du Tourisme) in the presence of Mrs. Helen Patton-Plusczyk, granddaughter of General Patton, and the families, and a concert by the group EUL?SWING: "From Billie Holiday to Ella Fitzgerald, via Fatz Waller and Duke Ellington, a repertoire to get everyone dancing and discover jazz in a festive way, in the style of the popular balls of the 40s!
? in the evening: re-enactment of the Allied Forces reconnaissance by the CIB Reenactor Group.

Saturday, July 27 :
? 11am: re-enactment of the arrival of Allied forces in the town by the CIB Reenactor Group and 300th.
? 2pm: near the hikers? crossroads, re-enactment of the erection of Bailey Bridge over the Sienne by the 300th Engineer Combat Battalion Reconstitution, installation and erection of the military camp and period games available for young and old.
? 8pm: Liberation Ball (free) in period costume, with 3 bands and on-site catering.
? 11pm: fireworks and torchlight procession.

Sunday, July 28 :
? all day: tour of the military camp and dismantling of the Bailey Bridge.
