21 km Mer, Monts et Marais – 6e édition

Major events,

VILLERS-SUR-MER

13/10/2024

Away from the asphalt, this 100% race has a single objective: to encourage sporting activities in an ecological setting, while at the same time showcasing the natural sites of the inDeauville area.

As its name suggests, the "21 km Mer, Monts et Marais" is based on the area?s unique topography. After an "escapade" over the wooded heights of Villers-sur-Mer and Auberville to reach the cliffs of Les Vaches Noires, then the seawall and beach at Villers-sur-Mer, runners will reach the natural and historic site of Mont-Canisy at Bénerville-sur-mer, offering breathtaking views of the Seine and Orne estuaries. The route continues to the Parc Calouste Gulbenkian, owned by the City of Deauville and home to rare tree collections, and finishes with a more direct return via the Blonville-Villers marsh.

Four events are on the program: 3 foot races (21 km with a difference in altitude of approx. 250 m, 12 km with a difference in altitude of approx. 130 m and 5 km timed in the Villers-Blonville marsh on flat ground), registered on the calendar of the French Athletics Federation and open to all (licensed or unlicensed), and a timed Nordic walking event which follows the same route as the 12 km.

10:00 am: 21 km
10.10am: 12km Nordic Walking event
