Your Guide Sarah Valentin

With an expert local guide, explore Normandy for authentic, educational and recreational experiences for individual travelers, families and groups!

Growing up in Paris, I took art history and civilization classes at the age of 15 years old in a private school, then went on to study at the Ecole du Louvre and the CNAM in Paris to obtain my guide license.

Coming from a family whose parents had a long military career in the French Air Force, I was naturally involved from an early age in remembrance tourism related to the two most deadly world conflicts of the 20th century, the First and Second World Wars.

In fact, I have an expertise of the Battle of Normandy but also a very thorough knowledge of the great dates, places, sites and important characters that have marked the history of our region: Mont-Saint-Michel, the Viking epic, William the Conqueror and ducal Normandy, medieval Normandy, Joan of Arc, Saint Theresa of Lisieux, the impressionist painters, the 19th century and the fashion for sea bathing...

My roots in Paris, Normandy and the North of France (Hauts-de-France and Flanders) allow me to provide some hilghly personalized tours in these 3 regions that I know perfectly, either in your vehicle, or with my sedan or my minibus. Indeed, I also guide on the WW1 and WW2 sites such as La Somme, Hauts-de-France and Belgium (Dieppe at the limit of the Somme, Vimy Ridge, Arras, Calais, Dunkirk, Ypres).

My tour programs are aimed more at individuals (single travelers, couples, families, friends) looking for tailor-made services, off the beaten track, adaptable to all ages and to all types of public including people with certain disabilities.

Of course, i can also answer to group visits (schools, associations, companies) by adapting my visits according to the desired goal (educational, playful, leisure or team building) and provide different educational supports (questionnaires, quizzes...).

I cover the most top tours specially adapted for a first discovery of Normandy: D-Day beaches, Mont-St-Michel, Giverny, Pays d'Auge (Honfleur, Deauville, Trouville, Etretat, Côte Fleurie, Pays d'Auge, the typical Normandy ... ) to those, more thematic (medieval Normandy with Rouen, Caen, Bayeux and its famous tapestries, in the footsteps of the Vikings with Jumièges, the 19th century and the development of the seaside resorts, the route of the impressionist painters, the gourmet circuit with the route of cider, cheese and other local products. ...), educational visits (the Caen Memorial, the Juno Beach Center...), games (treasure hunts, quizzes...), open-air outings (guided walk along one of the 5 D-Day beaches) or even experiential or immersive visits (the daily life under the german occupation, immersion in a German battery...).
