Après avoir traversé le port de plaisance de Caen, l’itinéraire poursuit sa découverte de la ville en traversant son « poumon vert » composé de l'hippodrome et d'un Espace Naturel Sensible. Empruntant la voie verte de la Suisse Normande, la véloroute longe toujours la rivière Orne mais cette fois non canalisée. Ce tracé aménagé sur une ancienne voie ferrée part à la découverte d'un havre de paix pour les amoureux de nature et de calme.
