Lavoir de Quetteville

Cultural Heritage,

QUETTEVILLE

The fountain's stream is a tributary of the Morelle river. The clear, fresh water flowing from it is said to cure eczema and skin diseases.
Pilgrims still come here for supplies, then ask for the key to the church in order to place a candle or leave money in the trunk for a mass to be said.
Every August, the commune celebrates its patron saint, Saint Laurent. To mark the occasion, a ceremony is organized and the water in the fountain is blessed.
