Construction of this church, circa 1083, was a consequence of the founding of the Men's Abbey by William the Conqueror. Its pure simplicity - architectural features offering the only form of decoration - and its exceptional brightness, render the Church of St Nicholas one of the most valuable illustrations of Normandy's religious Romanesque architecture. The interior is closed to the public.
