The legacy of Germaine Tillon, the famous scientist and Resistance fighter who entered the Panthéon in 2015, continues with this staged reading of the book La Robe d?amitié, by François Béchu. This proposal echoes Tzvetan Todorov?s famous quote: "When you read Germaine Tillion?s writings, you sometimes have the impression of dealing with a double personality. But these two facets are not in conflict; on the contrary, they articulate harmoniously. There's the actress driven by tenderness for her fellow human beings and the observer passionate about knowledge; the two never cease to be of service to each other.
Two actresses portray the many facets of this emblematic figure of the 20th century. Following in her footsteps, from her ethnological work in the Aurès region to her involvement in the Resistance and her deportation to Ravensbrück, we (re)discover a figure of humanism and perseverance, whose work continues to resonate today.
