Hostiles: snakes and vultures, bandits and morticians, sand as far as the eye can see. In a scorching desert, a man wanders. Above all, he must find water: his survival depends on it. The sun shows no mercy, beating down on this white-hot expanse. The inhabitants of this land, hardened by solitude and ignorant of everything but the law of the strongest, are more danger than help.
In the manner of a spaghetti western, the world in which the character evolves is brutal, but with a wry sense of humor as counterpoint. It's an homage, but also a play on the genre's clichés. The dramatic tension is built up in a subtle balance between the disturbing and the amusing.
