after "La Maison de Claudin "e in 1922, a collection of short texts, and "La Naissance du jour" in 1928. "Sido ou les points cardinaux en 1929", republished under the title "Sido", is in a way a culmination, an impressionist portrait in which the narrator, catching on the fly a few childhood memories, restores the singularity of her mother, her radicality, her complexity, and her mystery. To embody Colette's voice, she chose young actor Renan Prévot, whose androgynous magnetism lends a new dimension to the text.
