A wealthy American expatriate in France, a collector of ties, butterfly bows and Chow Chow dogs, Berry Wall was one of the great entertainers of the Belle Époque and Années Folles. Emmanuel Causse, cultural mediator at Les Franciscaines, offers a portrait of this amusing character nicknamed "King of the dudes" for his elegance, whose longevity was due, according to his own words, to his heavy consumption of champagne coupled with a holy horror of doctors.
