In the spring of 2024, the town of Avranches presents the Scriptorial with the 1st major exhibition devoted to the work of painter Albert Bergevin. At the same time, a second exhibition "outside the walls" will open for the summer, as part of the commemorations of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation. This open-air exhibition presents extracts from the painter's "notebooks" dating from 1939 to 1945. A unique and invaluable testimonial, this illustrated diary, which he kept throughout his life, provides a vivid description of the world around him, as well as a moving account of the occupation, bombing and liberation of Avranches, which he experienced as a resident of one of the town's historic districts.
