What would a trip to Normandy be without a few gourmet stops? We all know Normandy for its apple and dairy products, but did you know that we also make yummy biscuits? Discover our selection of Norman biscuit makers, ideal for a sweet break.

La Biscuiterie de l’Abbaye

Do you know where the sablé biscuit comes from? In 1870, the Littré dictionary defined sablé as “a type of cake from Normandy”. We’d even go so far as to say it’s a Norman speciality. The Biscuiterie de l’Abbaye’s shortbread is so famous that it’s even exported to Japan! The biscuit factory makes all kinds, but our favourite is the Petit Normand.
For those with a sweet tooth, there’s a guided tour of the production workshops (with tastings)!

Les Sablés d’Asnelles

What if you could go back in time to your childhood with Asnelles shortbread? Made with local products, they’ll make your heart melt… The recipe is so popular that it has remained unchanged since its creation. In particular, you’ll find the house speciality ‘traditional shortbread’ made with local Isigny PDO butter. You can also make your own biscuits and take them home with you on a tour of the laboratory.

L’Atelier du Biscuit

Located on the Cotentin Peninsula, the Maison du Biscuit is one of the most famous biscuit factories in Normandy, if not France! This family business has been handed down from father to son since 1903. It offers a wide range of home-made biscuits, including the famous financier. Top tip: visit the biscuit factory on a Sunday and try the famous ‘Sunday Brioche’.
