Trouville en Foulées – charity run and walk

La Trace Nocturne is evolving and making a fresh start: this year, the charity and family-friendly event is being rebranded as ‘Trouville en Foulées’. This name change aims to revitalise and ensure the long-term future of this popular event, whilst preserving its spirit of friendliness, sharing and good humour.

On Saturday 24 October at 4.30 pm, the local council invites the public to gather on Trouville-sur-Mer beach, behind the swimming pool, for a choice of two routes: a 4 km walk or a 6 km run. This charity challenge, which is not timed, is open to everyone, whether they’re fit or not: everyone moves at their own pace, whether they’re there to run, walk or simply cheer on the participants. There are plenty of prizes to be won in a prize draw.

All proceeds will be donated to Enfants Cancers Santé. Founded in 1998 and supported by the Lions Clubs of France, this charity, recognised as being of public benefit, funds clinical, biological and therapeutic research into cancers and leukaemia affecting children and adolescents, in collaboration with the SFCE and the National Cancer Institute. Run entirely by volunteers and with no paid staff, it devotes the donations it receives to its mission: to ‘cure more and cure better’ the 2,500 or so children affected by the disease each year.

Registration and race number collection take place at the Trouville-sur-Mer swimming pool, either the day before or on the day itself. Dogs are welcome, provided they are kept on a lead. Whether with family, friends or neighbours, this is a wonderful opportunity to come together and write the first chapter of ‘Trouville en Foulées’.
